Ars Nova is thrilled to present this wonderful children's musical Gertrude McFuzz October 15 -17 at Nova Theatre. The classic Dr. Seuss story of the girl-bird who learns to like herself just as she is is presented in a wonderful & lively musical style by Robert Kapilaw combining jazz, pop, and classical influences. The musical teaches self-acceptance and how to overcome envy & jealousy. Kapilow's "fanciful score uses a variety of instrumental timbre to evoke the story's images."

Ars Nova presents the classic humorous opera The Mikado by Gilbert & Sullivan January 28 - 30 at the VBC Playhouse. Directed by Joseph Stephenson, The Mikado is a comic opera set in two acts. Accompanied by full orchestra at the VBC Playhouse, you will not want to miss out on this wonderfully funny tale.
Synopsis
Ars Nova School of the Arts will be performing Mozart's beloved Don Giovanni June 10 - 12, 2011. Directed by Paul Houghtaling, head of opera studies at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, the opera will be performed at the VBC Playhouse.
