Ars Nova School of the Arts, founded in 1998, nurtures the art of excellence. A performing arts school with an emphasis on vocal and piano music and acting, Ars Nova provides professional quality training for singers and actors of all ages in a nurturing environment where the student is always the focus of the program. Ars Nova is pleased to be a founding school in the Music Development Program from Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada. To prepare students for the annual exams, weekly classes are offered in theory, sight singing and ear training at no additional cost. Ars Nova students gain acceptance into major institutions in the United States with scholarships as a result of their academic and musical achievements.

Since our establishment in September of 1998 with 25 students, Ars Nova has grown today to approximately 140 students. The school and corporate office are both located at 2828 Drake Avenue SW in the AB Stephens building and our mailing address is P.O. Box 14248, Huntsville, AL 35815.

Each student receives one private lesson per week for voice/instrument, with four performance/theory classes included in each 16-week session. Performance classes provide the opportunity for students to perform for their peers in a comfortable, nurturing setting. Instructors teach appropriate stage gestures and guide performers in developing a confident, communicative presence on stage. A theory class provides an opportunity for students to learn the rudiments of music including key signatures, intervals, simple rhythms and (for more advanced students) chord structure and rhythmic and melodic dictation. Adult voice students may elect anatomy for singers or self-conducting for singers. All our instructors hold college degrees or certification in their field of expertise.
