Dr. Barbara Hudson has been a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique since 2002. She was trained at the former Alexander Alliance in Philadelphia, PA, now the Philadelphia School for The Alexander Technique. She is currently Music Department Chair at Snead State Community College in Boaz, AL, where she teaches Voice, Basic Musicianship, Music Appreciation, a semester course in The Alexander Technique, and directs the College Street Singers, the Concert Choir, and the Community Choir. She holds degrees in Choral Music Education, Church Music and Vocal Pedagogy. She has been teaching The Alexander Technique privately and in groups as well as presenting workshops on the integrated use of the body, mind, breathing mechanism, and the voice since 2002. She has worked with educators, fine and performing artists, exercise instructors, mind/ body practitioners, homemakers, business professionals, and persons of all walks of life to help them discover how their thinking affects their health and movement, and how to regain their natural coordination in their daily living.
